Korea Palace @ Tanjung Tokong

It was the first time i dined at Korea Palace, and it's was a month ago. I know, right. I m so outdated. The reason why i never dine at any korean restaurant (except Seoul Garden) is because i hv bad experience with kimchi noodle years ago. It's tastes so weird so i just ate few bites of it.

So, what's make me decide to go to Korean Palace? It's because Korea'd became the country that i most wanted to visit to lately and i'm so curious about the taste of spicy rice cake (ddukbokkie/Tteokbokki) as it's a famous street food in Korea. Everyone is posting the picture of ddukbokkie after they came back from Korea and it looks so tempting. So, when hubby asked me where i want to celebrate my birthday, i decide to dined at korean restaurant instead. :D

We reached there around 7pm for dinner. We were given choice to dined on the table or traditional floor sitting. We chose to dine on the table.

After we ordered food from menu, the waiter served us the appetiser - a bowl of sweet bean soup, rice tea and 8 side dishes which can be refilled.  The 8 side dishes included Coleslaw, Kimchi (cabbage, cucumber), bean sprouts, stir fried broccolis and carrots, potatoes, fish cakes and long beans.

my favorite goes to the potatoes. The kimchi still taste weird to me. :/

forgotten what it this, it looks like a fried egg, but it's actually something made from flour.
Later, the waiter place burning charcoal in the pit and professionally grilled the meats for us.

 Fresh pork belly

Half - cooked meat :D
The waiter cut it into small pieces for easy consumption. I like this one most  you just have to try it for yourself.
Chicken with red pepper paste sauce, taste not bad.

Spicy rice cake (Ddukbokkie/Tteokbokki)

Fyi, ddukbokkie is cylindrical rice cake covered in thick, spicy sauce. I think this dish is very filling as it's made of rice and thick sauce. We cant finish all the food although the portion not big. It's surely better to go with bigger group of people as we can order more dishes.

To be honest, the price is pretty expensive for the small portion they served despite the dishes is quite delicious. It's great korean cuisine experience that'd change my perspective on korean food and I'm definately looking forward to go back some time later. :)
